Research
Broadly speaking, my research interests lie at the intersection of assessment, cognition and task design in case based learning contexts. More precisely, I explore the factors and contextual nature of problem-solving performance by investigating how case based knowledge is created, enacted and assessed in instructional settings.
This objective triggers inquiries about the nature of competent performance and how expert teachers identify and assess learners’ performance in context. These inquiries involve the exploration of the contextual interpretation of texts and answers, the identification of higher order thinking and the role of motivation and metacognitive processes in case based learning scenarios and tasks.
